The Teen Photo Workshops were created by Mark Ostow over 20 years ago with the goal of sharing his unique energy and vision. By day, he’s a portrait photographer who shoots for national publications and advertising campaigns.
Be prepared for an intense week. We don’t stop.

CAN YOU GIVE ME MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE PROGRAM?
Sessions meet at Mark’s studio in Central Square, Cambridge. They’re led by Mark Ostow with co-teacher Marissa Fiorucci and our fantastic group of interns. Class size is limited to 15 students, 14 years old and up!
HOW LONG ARE THE WORKSHOPS AND WHAT’S THE COST?
Your workshop will last for five days, M-F 9am-3pm. We run one session in June and one in July, every year. The cost per session is $800. This year, we’re also offering an early-bird special: $750/session for all sign-ups before April 14th!
SHOULD I PACK MY KID A LUNCH?
Each workshop day we have fun trying different cuisines. Tibetan buffet is one of Mark’s favorites. BUT if you want to keep more control over the food (allergies, etc.), or just want to keep costs down, then please do pack a lunch.
WHAT IF MY TEEN HAS A DENTIST APPOINTMENT?
Since the workshop is only five days, attendance is important, but we understand that sometimes life gets in the way and we can make provisions as needed.
MY CHILD HAS NO PHOTO EXPERIENCE. IS THAT OKAY?
Absolutely! As long as they’re interested in photography, looking at things, and experiencing the city. TPW is not about teaching them by way of a rigorous curriculum, but more about helping them open their eyes a little wider.
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
We count on your being at the session you sign up for! If you need to cancel, please let us know at least 30 days before the first day of the workshop. You’ll receive a refund minus a $100 cancellation fee. Refunds cannot be made for cancellations within 30 days of the scheduled workshop.
WE DON’T OWN A DSLR CAMERA. PLEASE ADVISE.

WHAT TO BRING
DSLR camera, if possible
Lunch or lunch money to grab a lunch wherever we are shooting (about $10 per day) and water
T fare (a pre-loaded Charlie Card is ideal)
A positive spirit and an openness to meeting new people
Some photo knowledge is helpful, but not necessary
